Volkswagen will be unveiling the Sport Coupe Concept GTE in a world premiere at this year’s Geneva motor show.
Described by the company as an “avant-garde model”, the concept car will herald a “new, progressive” Volkswagen design language.
The coupe incorporates a large boot lid on the outside with the interior space of a four-seater – an alternative to the traditional saloons of the B and C segments, say the designers.
In real-world terms, the four-door design study most likely previews the look of the brand’s future CC replacement.
“Evolution and revolution come together in the Sport Coupe Concept GTE. This concept is based on Volkswagen design DNA, which has been visibly sharpened even more. It shows how fascinating the highest-volume brand of our Group is shaping the immediate future,” says Volkswagen design boss Walter de Silva.
The concept gets a plug-in hybrid drive system as well as an all-wheel drive layout with an electric propshaft in terms of power and transmission.
