Porsche has recently unveiled the new Macan GTS, which features a re-engineered chassis, 20 bhp more power and uprated brakes.
In terms of performance, the 355 bhp petrol engine with 369 lb-ft of torque places the GTS between the Macan S and the Macan Turbo in the range line-up. The technical basis for this is the 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 of the Macan S, supplemented by Porsche’s PDK seven-speed transmission and a special traction management system that splits power distribution to the four wheels.
Porsche claims a 0-62 mph acceleration is possible in 5.2 secs, or 5.0 secs with the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is listed at 160 mph.
The increased performance means fuel economy is down by 0.7 mpg to 31.4 mpg combined, while CO2 emissions rise from 207 g/km to 212 g/km.
Externally, the GTS edition sits 15 mm lower than standard and features a number of black-coloured visual accents – finished in high gloss above the waistline and in a matt finish in the lower areas of the body such as the 20-inch wheels. LED lights are also available as an option for the first time on the Macan range.
Inside there are GTS-badged sports seats with Alcantara centre panels, and additional Alcantara cabin trim.
