After the reveal of the refreshed Mégane in 2015 and all-new Mégane Sport Tourer estate earlier this year in March, Renault is extending its C-segment line-up with the arrival of all-new Grand Coupé.
Stylistically, the new four-door saloon features the same front end, complete with C-shaped lighting signature, as the regular hatch. However, there’s more space at the rear; the new model’s three-box body benefits from a boot with 503-litres of load space. Up top there’s also a panoramic glass roof linking the windscreen to the rear window.
Underneath, the car is powered by the same engines as the hatch. These include two petrol engines, namely a 115 bhp 1.6-litre and more powerful 130 bhp 1.2-litre turbo; and a 1.5-litre diesel unit with three outputs: 90 bhp, 110 bhp and 130 bhp.
The new Mégane Grand Coupé will be produced at Renault’s Bursa plant in Turkey, and will be sold in more than 20 countries around the world. Although it will not initially be made available in the UK, a right-hand drive version is expected to go on sale in Ireland.
