Renault-owned car brand Dacia has revealed its all-new Duster SUV. Having sold over two million units since launch, the vehicle has become one of the French manufacturer’s top-selling models.
Following an ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ philosophy, the refreshed version therefore sees an evolution in its design language instead of getting any kind of radical turnaround.
Key changes are an all-new grille complete with a new lighting signature including LED daytime running lights divided into three sections. Also at the front is a larger, mass-coloured, satin-chrome-finish skid plate.
From the side, the windscreen has been brought forward 100 mm compared with the current Duster and is more steeply raked, which makes the cabin appear longer. The belt line has been shifted as well, sitting higher than before, which the designers claim adds an impression of “strength and occupant protection”. Additional details include new aluminium roof bars and 17-inch wheels.
At the back, the rear lighting signature – composed of four red stacked squares – takes on a very futuristic look and is a genuine departure from any previous model. And like the new vehicle’s front, there’s also a wide skid plate finished in satin-chrome.
On the inside, there’s a completely redesigned interior, as well as new equipment – all of which will be revealed at next month’s Frankfurt motor show, where the new Duster will be making its official public debut.
