Ducati has unveiled its latest limited edition model, the highly exclusive 1199 Superleggera.
The new machine combines a precious cocktail of materials such as titanium, magnesium and carbon-fibre to set the highest power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle.
Producing more than 200hp and weighing-in with a dry weight of 155kg (341.7lb), the motorbike is the latest example of Ducati’s “Authentic Italian Performance” design and engineering philosophy.
The 1199 Superleggera model has been offered first to owners of the Desmosedici RR or R version Superbikes, giving them the right of first refusal to purchase the new design. Its success has so far exceeded all expectations; currently, 75% of the 500 examples which will be built, have already been sold.
The 1199 Superleggera will be officially displayed on the Ducati stand of the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan next month in November.
