Bentley has introduced a ‘Blackline’ specification for its all-new Flying Spur, which the luxury brand says gives the four-door model a “more powerful road presence”.
Externally, much of the car’s chrome-work is replaced with a black-coloured trim, including the famous Flying B logo, radiator vanes, matrix grilles, side window surrounds, and lower door and rear bumper blades. The front and rear light bezels, door handles, wing vents and the exhaust outlets also receive the same darkened treatment.
Standard fit on the Blackline specification are 21″ five tri-spoke alloy wheels, with 22″ ones coming as an additional option. Buyers will further be able to choose from among 17 standard exterior colours, as well as a further 13 extended range colours at launch.
In terms of performance, the new variant features the same powerplant as the regular model, namely a 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 engine. Mated to a dual-clutch eight speed transmission, it delivers 626 bhp and 664 lb.ft of torque, 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 207 mph.
Bentley claims the Blackline specification has proven “extremely popular” with customers of the new Continental GT. Since the beginning of the year, up to 30 per cent of all GTs bought have belonged to the Blackline family.
