MV Agusta has unveiled the 2021 model year Brutale and Dragster, with the duo getting design and engineering updates as well as revamped electronics.
Both models are underpinned by the same frame which has been redesigned, getting new side plates that MV’s engineers say improve torsional and longitudinal rigidity.
The bikes also share a new rear suspension linkage. Featuring a different progression, it now works with a single shock absorber with revised spring and calibration “to offer better efficiency and comfort”.
In the electronics department, MV claims to have made a “generational leap” with the 2021 models. Details include a new six-axis IMU that governs traction control, launch control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, and, for the Brutale, cruise control too.
There’s also a new 5.5″ TFT dashboard that is accessed and navigated via a new joystick control on the left-hand block, while a small flyscreen protects the instrument panel and is meant to deflect airflow away from the rider’s torso; its profile has reportedly been modified to increase its effectiveness.
In terms of power, the two bikes – which both weigh 175 kg (dry) – are driven by the same 798 cc three-cylinder engine that delivers 138 bhp and a top speed of 152 mph. The engine incorporates a whole host of new components as well as a redesigned exhaust silencer.
For improved rider comfort, the bikes get a redesigned seat that also incorporates a new type of foam.
