Following the success of its ‘Race Blu Series’ livery, Yamaha has decided to update the paint scheme for a range of 2014 models. Inspired by the livery of the factory YZR-M1 race bikes ridden by Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, Race Blu incorporates the traditional Yamaha deep blue with a dark metallic grey to enhance the styling on its key sport models.
The paint scheme has been further enhanced for 2014 with the addition of anodised components, such as the front forks, on certain models as well as blue wheels.
Yamaha YZF-R1
Yamaha’s flagship sportsbike has its track-influenced look further emphasised with a dark metallic grey front cowl that transforms into deep metallic blue for the details, inner fairing panel, rear of the fuel tank and tail unit. The 43mm inverted forks have been anodised blue to further enhance their visual appeal while the wheels are painted Yamaha blue to compliment the overall colour scheme.
Yamaha YZF-R6
Yamaha’s leading supersport bike, which continues to dominate the Supersport World Championship, features a new Race Blu livery that aims to accentuate the YZF-R6’s angular styling by the front cowl being split diagonally between dark metallic grey and Yamaha deep blue. This contrast is then emphasised with Yamaha blue wheels, blue anodised forks and a grey front fender, while the seat unit and rear of the fuel tank display the traditional Yamaha blue colour.
Yamaha MT-09
The brand’s new 3-cylinder MT-09 also gets the Blu series treatment with deep metallic blue wheels offset by dark metallic grey bodywork.
Yamaha FZ8 & Fazer8
The FZ8 gains a dash of colour with anodised blue fork legs and a blue cylinder head cover while the rest of the bike remains a subtle dark metallic grey. The Fazer8, meanwhile, also gets anodised blue fork legs and a blue cylinder head cover, while the dark metallic grey semi-fairing has Yamaha deep blue highlights.
Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F, XJ6 Diversion & XJ6
Yamaha’s XJ6-series of motorcycles also benefit from the updated Race Blu livery. The XJ6’s minimal bodywork is painted in a dark metallic grey with black highlights, which is offset by the deep blue wheels. The XJ6 Diversion F now features a new look with its deep blue wheels and dark metallic grey fuel tank, nose cowl and tail unit being bisected by its black fairing. The Diversion also benefits from deep blue wheels, dark metallic grey fuel tank, nose cowl and tail unit.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a amazing job with this. Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Safari. Excellent Blog!
