VIDEO: Lamborghini Design Boss Talks New Asterion
Interviewed at this year’s Paris motor show, Filippo Perini, current head of design at Lamborghini, highlights the features of the new Asterion LPI 910-4.
Described as a “technology demonstrator”, the Asterion is a concept car housing a plug-in hybrid powertrain that Lamborghini says it has designed entirely in-house.
The drivetrain is essentially based around the company’s naturally aspirated V10 5.2-litre petrol engine, which on its own provides a power output of 602 bhp and 413 lb ft of torque. Combined with three electric motors providing a further 296 bhp, total hybrid power is able to reach a claimed maximum of 898 bhp.
Externally, the Asterion also reveals clues as to the styling of the brand’s future models, including the production version of the forthcoming Urus SUV.
