Alpine has taken the wraps off a rally-inspired version of its mid-engine A110 sports car at the annual International Automobile Festival in Paris.
The French brand’s designers say the styling exercise has been inspired by the rally versions of the A110 and more specifically from the winning A110 of the 1973 Monte Carlo Rally.
With its 80 mm wider body and its ground clearance heightened by 60 mm, the SportsX concept car “explores a new facet of sportiness”, claim the designers.
Visual mods include a blackened roof and bonnet, which together augment a slim-line black trim found around the arches. The car’s rear also carries a specially designed ski rack.
Underneath, it’s powered by the same 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine as found in the regular road-going car, generating 249 bhp and 239 lb-ft of torque.
