Start-up Arabian car-maker W Motors has announced that a production-ready version of its uber-luxury “Lykan HyperSport 2014” supercar will be exhibited at the Dubai World Trade Center at the start of November (5-9), as part of the Dubai International Motor Show where over 300,000 visitors are expected to attend.
The Lykan was originally introduced as a model prototype at the International Qatar Motor Show back in January of this year. The vehicle has subsequently been exhibited in Dubai, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Belgium and Spain through a series of both private and public viewings.
Headquartered in Dubai for over a year, W Motors has been working steadily to launch what will become the world’s very first Arabian-produced supercar.
The production version is to be powered by a flat-6, twin-turbo mid-rear powerplant. Producing 750 hp and 1000 NM of torque, the engine can be mated to either a 6-speed sequential or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. According to W Motors’ official figures, the Lykan manages 0-62 mph in less than 2.8 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 245 mph.
Priced at $3.4m dollars, the exclusive car will be restricted to a total of just seven units worldwide.
