Porsche is expanding its product range to include three new bike designs. The frames of the Porsche Bike RS, Porsche Bike and Bike RX are reminiscent of the silhouette cut by the sportscars produced in Zuffenhausen.
Providing a mid-level entry point, the Bike RS incorporates a frame with certain ergonomic components made from carbon, bringing the sport bike’s overall weight to nine kilograms. A 20-speed gear assembly makes the bike suitable for urban riding or extended trips. XTR equipment provided by Shimano is matched with lightweight brakes supplied by German brake specialist Magura.
Designed more as an urban cruiser, the Porsche Bike, in turn, features a Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub gear assembly. A low-wear geared belt drive is coupled with MT26 disc brakes provided by Magura.
Featuring a 20-speed gear assembly supplied by Shimano and 27.5 inch wheels, the new Bike RX is targeted to off-road cyclists. The mountain bike’s carbon frame aims to blend stability with a low weight and increased damping properties. A DT Swiss air-suspension fork and hydraulic disc brakes from Magura complete the bike package.
All three Porsche Bikes will launch on global markets from March 2014.
