Pininfarina Reveals Design Sketch of First Own-Brand Electric Hypercar
Pininfarina has revealed the first design sketch of what will be the Italian coachbuilder’s first ever own-brand vehicle – an ultra-low volume, fully-electric hypercar codenamed “PF0”.
After having been effectively taken over by Indian business conglomerate and car manufacturer Mahindra over two years ago, Pininfarina announced earlier in 2018 that it would be launching as a dedicated carmaker with an exclusive focus on designing and building über-luxury electric vehicles.
Officially called “Automobili Pininfarina”, the Munich-based company is currently being headed by ex-Audi India boss Michael Perschke, while its design direction is being guided by Pininfarina’s Luca Borgogno.
In less than two years, Perschke and his team say they will present the first customer with a car of “unmatched performance and unprecedented heritage”.
“Automobili Pininfarina is a pioneering new business created to service the most discerning clients in the world. Our product portfolio will launch with an innovative, zero-emissions hypercar that represents the progression we aim to make at the pinnacle of the luxury and sports car market,” claims Perschke.
