The Goodwood Estate in Chichester hosted the Festival of Speed this past weekend. The annual event, held at the family home of the Earl of March, features an array of cars that spans from the beginnings of the automotive industry at the end of 19th century to the very latest cars proudly displayed by the manufacturers.
At this year’s gathering, in front of crowds estimated to number in excess of 50,000 people, cars both old and new took on the 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill at the 20th running of the Festival of Speed.
It was also announced that the famous hillclimb will now feature as a new track in the forthcoming Gran Turismo 6 video game for PlayStation 3.
Surprise appearances at this year’s event included Jaguar’s experimental C-X75, which made its public dynamic debut. Other notable cars on view included Eric Clapton’s SP12 EC, produced by Ferrari’s “Special Projects” division.
