A year on from revealing the L500 R HYbrid Vision Gran Turismo, Peugeot has unveiled an updated version that is claimed to deliver even more performance.
Showcasing the French manufacturer’s new design language, the sportier L750 R, which has been launched alongside the release of the latest PlayStation 4 Gran Turismo Sport video game, comes equipped with both a petrol engine capable of delivering 572 bhp and 10,000 rpm, and a 168 bhp electric motor, giving the car a potent 740 bhp in total. Peugeot claims the virtual racing car goes from 0-62 mph in just 2.4 seconds.
Chassis details, meanwhile, include a dual-circuit hydraulic braking system and four ventilated carbon discs, independent front and rear suspensions which vary the ride height according to the car’s speed, and forged-magnesium wheels.
And a carbon-fibre structure means the L750 R weighs in at 825 kg – 175 kg lighter than its predecessor. The performance hybrid was developed with competitive racing in mind, say the designers.
