Nissan Releases Sketch Teasing Design of All-New Leaf
Nissan has released a teaser sketch that gives away the side profile of the all-new Leaf. The Japanese manufacturer says the new car will feature an improved aerodynamic design that makes it more efficient, allowing drivers to travel farther on a single charge – some reports even suggest the new Leaf will double the range of the current model.
“Inspired by airplane wings, Nissan engineers recreated the ideal shape for the new Leaf enabling a symmetric air flow that helps it slice through the air for a smoother, more efficient journey,” said a company spokesperson.
The redesigned next-generation Leaf will also sit lower to the ground, which should reduce lift and thereby deliver better stability at high speeds. Other new design features “significantly” stabilise the car when hit by strong crosswinds.
The all-electric hatchback is set to be revealed at the start of September, before launching onto the market in 2018.
