Lamborghini has revealed the new Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive Spyder, with the convertible claimed to deliver the same 602 bhp and 413 lb-ft of torque as the coupé version.
With a 0-62 mph acceleration of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph, the V10-powered Spyder is also as fast as its coupé stablemate.
Well, nearly, because the differences are truly negligible: 0.2 seconds slower to get to 62 mph and 1 mph short in terms of top speed – and considering a weight gain of 120 kg, those figures are somewhat remarkable.
The Spyder’s soft-top roof, meanwhile, stows within 17 seconds under the rear hood at speeds of up to 31 mph.
In terms of design, sitting on 19-inch wheels as standard, the convertible’s exterior is marked out from the coupé version by way of a new front splitter complete with vertical fins within the larger, framed front air intakes, and, at the back, there’s a new diffuser set within a gloss black bumper.
Lamborghini’s designers also say the Spyder’s exterior has the same drag reduction and downforce as that of the coupé and, as a result, no special aerodynamic appendages were required.
First customer deliveries of the new Huracán EVO RWD Spyder are expected later on this summer.
