The Jaguar F-Pace, 2017 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year, has been given the SVR treatment to make it the fastest and most powerful F-Pace yet.
Engineered by the British manufacturer’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, with a 44% uplift in power, the F-Pace SVR’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine produces 542 bhp and 502 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to reach 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 176 mph.
Aerodynamic changes include larger air intakes at the front and side fender vents that are claimed to lower pressure in the wheelarches, reduce lift and provide additional cooling while also improving high-speed stability. In addition, custom wheel arch extensions and lower body mouldings set the SVR variant apart from the regular F-Pace.
A bespoke SVR bonnet also features vents to help extract hot air from the engine, while at the rear a reshaped spoiler is joined by a new bumper housing the quad tailpipes of Jaguar’s “Variable Valve Active Exhaust System”, which is said to weigh 6.6 kg lighter than the standard F-Pace system. The bumper also incorporates side strakes that aid aerodynamic performance by smoothing airflow away from the rear of the vehicle.
Additional design details include new 21-inch alloy wheels that are wider at the rear by 25 mm compared to the front. Sitting behind the wheels are uprated larger 395 mm front and 396 mm rear brake discs.
The SVR-tuned chassis also has progressive front and rear springs that are 30 and 10 per cent stiffer respectively and incorporate an anti-roll bar specification that contributes to a 5% reduction in body roll.
On the inside, the car features slimline sports seats in the front and rear complete with signature lozenge quilting and embossed SVR logos. There’s also an SVR steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters.
