Bentley has introduced a new flagship to the Flying Spur range, namely, the Flying Spur W12 S. The new model is the first four-door Bentley to have a top speed in excess of 200 mph.
Changes to the 6.0-litre, twin-turbo W12 engine have resulted in power increasing from 616 bhp to 626 bhp and torque from 590 to 605 lb-ft. Full torque is available from 2,000 rpm.
This increase in power means that the W12 S achieves a top speed of 202 mph, while 0-62 mph is dispatched in 4.5 seconds.
Sitting on 21″ wheels, the car’s exterior gets a number of ‘dark’ styling cues, including a suite of blackware detailing – such as the gloss radiator grille and light surrounds – a rear diffuser and optional carbon-fibre veneer. The front and rear lamps also receive a dark tint treatment.
On the inside there’s a wider palette of colours, a new fascia finish and custom stitching. New standard interior features also include a W12 S headrest logo, W12 S treadplates and a three-spoke “Sport Plus” steering wheel and knurled gearshift paddles, which are only available as options on other models.
Customer deliveries of the new W12 S will commence at the end of the year.
