Following the world premiere of new C5 Aircross – the brand’s new C-segment SUV – at the Shanghai motor show in April, Citroën is stepping up its international SUV offensive.
Today the French brand has revealed the new C3 Aircross compact SUV, which will soon launch into the rapidly growing B SUV-segment in the UK, Europe and across markets worldwide.
Effectively replacing the C3 Picasso MPV, and designed under the watch of Alexandre Malval, the exterior styling features the same “protective character” as seen on both the C5 Aircross and the C-Aircross Concept that was unveiled back in February ahead of the Geneva motor show.
In terms of size, the car measures 4.15m long, 1.76m wide and 1.64m tall, with a ground clearance 20 mm higher than new C3, whose platform it shares.
On the inside there’s a fold-flat front passenger seat and 520-litres of boot space (1,289-litres with the rear seats folded down flat), as well as a large opening panoramic glass sunroof.
In terms of power, the new model will be available with both petrol and diesel engines, matched with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission.
Produced at Citroën’s Zaragoza plant in Spain, the new C3 Aircross will officially go ‘on sale’ in the UK in November.
