Mitsubishi Appoints Former Audi Designer as Europe Design Boss
Mitsubishi has announced that Jorge Diez has joined the company to head its European design operations.
Not only will he serve as the head of Mitsubishi’s European car design studio located near Frankfurt in Germany, but he will also serve as vice president of the Japanese brand’s entire European R&D department.
Diez, who graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, formerly spent 18 years at the Volkswagen Group, where he was the head of exterior design at Seat and head of the automotive department at Audi Konzept Design – the German brand’s Munich-based ‘Blue Sky’ think tank.
“I am pleased to announce that Jorge Diez is joining our design team and will lead it in Europe,” said Tsunehiro Kunimoto, corporate vice president of Mitsubishi’s design division. “He combines both strategic thinking and creative leadership. I look forward to him enhancing the creativity and quality of future Mitsubishi design as we expand our European studio.”
