MG has this week unveiled an all-new electric supercar concept at the Shanghai motor show.
Dubbed the MG E-motion, it features a sportsback-style body that pays tribute to the brand’s hundred-year heritage, according to its designers.
Additional styling details include a “starlight matrix” front grill, headlights that are said to have been inspired from the London Eye, and vertical-orientated tail lights at the rear. Butterfly doors, meanwhile, give way to a four seat layout on the inside.
Below the surface, the MG E-motion gets an all-electric powertrain that is claimed to deliver 0-62 mph in less than four seconds, as well as delivering a range of more than 310 miles.
“The MG E-motion electric supercar concept demonstrates our global vision for the future. Alongside leading the way in design and capability, the next-generation model is the latest step in achieving the ultimate driving experience,” says MG’s UK marketing boss, Matthew Cheyne.
Following feedback the company has received since the car’s reveal, Cheyne reckons the concept car will get the green light for production, and could hit roads in 2020.
