Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the AMG performance edition of its new GLA compact SUV. The car has been designed and packaged to appeal to a young target group, says the German car-maker.
In addition to the A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG, the GLA 45 AMG will be the third vehicle to feature the four-cylinder turbo engine. Currently the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world, the AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine produces 360 hp of power and develops a peak torque of 450 Newton metres. It allows the car to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.
With a fuel consumption of 37.6 mpg and compliance with EU 6 emissions standards, the new GLA 45 AMG also gets improved environmental figures.
The car will come with variable AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive fitted as standard, which is fully integrated with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.
