Lexus to Roll Out Visibility Technology
Lexus has confirmed it will be rolling out new visibility technology to its saloon and SUV range.
Lexus standardised reverse cameras as far back as 2003, and is now in the process of making blind spot monitoring and its “Rear Cross Traffic Alert” technology available on as many models as possible.
The first vehicles to receive the accident-avoiding technology include the soon-to-launch NX and RC Lines.
Existing IS, ES, GS and LS, which currently feature available blind spot monitoring, will receive Rear Cross Traffic Alert technology before the end of 2014.
At launch, the all-new NX will offer a 360-degree panoramic view monitor on selected models.
The technology enables drivers to conduct a visual ‘sweep’ of the vehicle’s exterior prior to driving away to ensure the vehicle is clear of obstructions.
