Lamborghini Aventador Hits Production Milestone
Lamborghini has reached an important historical milestone with its V12 model: in nine years the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory has produced 10,000 Aventadors.
Earlier this month the car with chassis number 10,000 – an Aventador SVJ Roadster finished in grey and red livery complete with an Ad Personam interior – rolled off the production line, destined for a buyer in Thailand.
The Aventador range originally debuted back in 2011, in coupé guise, as the Aventador LP 700-4.
A number of variants followed, including a roadster version in November of 2012. That same year also saw the unveiling of the Aventador J, for which Lamborghini’s designers and engineers dispensed with both the roof and the classic windscreen.
Later in 2016, there came the Aventador Miura Homage and then the Aventador S; the latter featuring a new aerodynamic design, redesigned suspension, more power, and completely revamped driving dynamics.
Another highlight came in 2018 with the Aventador SVJ, which became the fastest production car on Germany’s famous Nürburgring-Nordschleife track, covering the 12.8-mile lap in just 6:44.97 minutes. Production of the SVJ was limited to just 900 units.
