The upcoming Paris motor show will see the official unveiling of the new GTC4Lusso T, the first four-seater in Ferrari’s history to sport a turbo-charged V8 engine.
While the exterior styling remains unchanged to the V12 model revealed earlier in the year, the new GT variant has rear-wheel-only drive, lighter overall weight and increased weight bias towards the rear – a figure of 46:54 to be precise.
The 3.9-litre V8 turbo engine’s maximum power output is 602 bhp at 7,500 rpm while maximum torque of 560 lb-ft is available at between 3,000 and 5,250 rpm.
Ferrari engineers say the GTC4Lusso T’s dynamic control systems have also been specifically calibrated to boost responsiveness to commands. In particular, the four-wheel steering mechanism, which is integrated with Side Slip Control, is claimed to make for more rapid response to steering wheel inputs entering and exiting corners, owing to the rear wheels steering in the same direction as the front ones.
There’s also Variable Boost Management to get rid of turbo lag and variable torque curves between 3rd and 7th gear, leading to more longitudinal acceleration.
