Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a facelifted version of the CLS Coupe and CLS Shooting Brake ahead of the cars’ debut at this month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Both designs feature a revised front section incorporating a so-called “diamond” radiator grille, a bumper with enlarged air intakes, and Mercedes’ newly-developed Multibeam LED headlamps. Changes at the rear include slightly darkened tail lights.
The new generation of the CLS-Class will be powered by a range of five engines, all of which meet the Euro 6 standard. A new addition to the lineup is the CLS 220 BlueTEC, which gets a four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 168 bhp and 295 lb ft of torque. 201 bhp and torque of 369 lb ft are on tap from the four-cylinder diesel unit in the CLS 250 BlueTEC. The V6 diesel unit in the CLS 350 BlueTEC, meanwhile, exceeds these figures with 254 bhp and torque of 457 lb ft.
Equally new is the V6 petrol engine with turbocharging in the CLS 400 with a 3.5 litre displacement and biturbo drive. Compared to its predecessor with a naturally aspirated engine it produces 26 bhp more with 328 bhp. Its torque increases by 81 lb ft to 354 lb ft. The CLS 500 with 402 bhp and up to 443 lb ft of torque leads the field in the power output ratings.
However, at the top of the line-up is the CLS63 AMG. Its twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 produces 549 bhp and 590lb ft of torque.
New technology also comes in the shape of 9G-TRONIC, Mercedes’ 9-speed automatic transmission with hydrodynamic torque converter, which is used in all but the range-topping CLS63 AMG variant. With nine forward gears the 9G‑TRONIC replaces the earlier seven-speed automatic, the 7G-TRONIC PLUS.
The restyled CLS-Class is set to go on sale in the UK from September.

Hello There. I found your blog using msn. This is a very well written article. I’ll be sure to bookmark it and come back to read more of your useful information. Thanks for the post. I will certainly return.
I have taken notice that in digital camera models, specialized detectors help to maintain focus automatically. Those kind of sensors regarding some cameras change in in the area of contrast, while others employ a beam associated with infra-red (IR) light, particularly in low light. Higher specification cameras often use a mixture of both methods and likely have Face Priority AF where the dslr camera can ‘See’ a face as you concentrate only in that. Thanks for sharing your thinking on this blog.
