Ex-Jaguar Design Boss Launches New Design and Engineering Consultancy
Ex-Jaguar design boss Ian Callum has launched his own product design consultancy, only one month after having left the British car manufacturer.
Called “CALLUM” and co-founded with David Fairbairn, Adam Donfrancesco and Tom Bird, the new consultancy “will create bespoke and limited-edition products across the sectors of design, lifestyle and travel”.
“I wanted to get back to the essence of creativity; the challenge of producing something wonderful and personal. To design the alternative has always been my mantra, but always the beautiful alternative and something to enjoy,” explains Ian, who is known for creating numerable car designs, including the Aston Martin Vanquish, Vantage and DB9, Jaguar F-Type, F-Pace, XJ and, most recently, the World Car of the Year Award-winning I-Pace, among others.
“In today’s modern world, collaboration is the catalyst for new ideas, and this is our ethos and inspiration, both within our team and as we look to work with partners in the future. CALLUM is an exciting new chapter that will focus on ‘Journeys to Destinations’, and all that encompasses.”
CALLUM’s 20,000 sq ft facility in Warwick is claimed to house the latest in design, engineering and manufacturing technology, which will enable the design and creation of bespoke products in-house.
Details of the agency’s first project are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
