Ducati’s XDiavel S has won the “Red Dot Award: Best of the Best” in the “Product Design” category. This now becomes the second time the Bologna-based bike manufacturer has won the prize, after previously obtaining the award in 2013 with the 1199 Panigale.
First unveiled at last year’s EICMA bike show, the new XDiavel was a challenge for both Ducati and its Style Center, entrusted with the task of evolving the brand’s design language in the direction of the cruiser world.
Sitting on 17-inch alloy wheels and finished in an all-black colour scheme, the design almost has two personalities as it tries to cross between genres of riding – low speeds, relaxed riding, long journeys and feet forward ergonomics while at the same time providing performance and handling expected of the Ducati mark.
“On one hand the motorcycle’s design was inspired by the cruiser world, on the other hand Ducati DNA. It drives the cruiser concept headlong into a modern context: a real ‘Technocruiser’ with futuristic styling and state-of-the-art technology,” explains Andrea Ferraresi, Ducati Style Center manager. “Extreme in its proportions, the XDiavel was deliberately designed ‘element by element’.”
Aimed primarily at the American market, the bike is powered by Ducati’s twin-cylinder Testastretta DVT 1262 engine.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
