Chevrolet has introduced a refreshed 2019 Camaro lineup with updated designs, new tech features and the first-ever Turbo 1LE.
The U.S. carmaker claims the 2019 Camaro’s updated design features not only enhance the car’s appearance but also help to improve performance. For instance, the revised grille details and hood and fascia vents deliver improved air flow, both to cool components and to help minimise drag or lift.
The new front-end design also sees greater differentiation between LS/LT, RS and SS models, including the fascia, grille, LED dual-element headlamps and reshaped hood.
Other styling changes include new, more sculpted LED tail-lamps as well as new 20-inch wheel designs on RS and SS models.
The new Turbo 1LE, meanwhile, which joins the V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE, leverages the most out of a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine to deliver 275 bhp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It also gets an exclusive six-speed manual transmission and a bespoke chassis package derived from the V6 1LE to offer “track-capable” performance.
On the inside, the 2019 Camaro features an all-new, next-generation infotainment system. Dubbed “Infotainment 3”, it’s claimed to be the most advanced infotainment system ever from Chevrolet, and even allows vehicle software updates to be automatically uploaded over the air.
Additional new technology features include an improved standard rear-vision camera system with a new, digital HD camera that is claimed to offer improved view quality.
