BMW has revealed the M850i xDrive “First Edition”, which will be produced in a limited quantity of just 400 units, of which only ten will be destined for the UK.
Based on the regular M Performance 8 Series coupé, which made its global debut just last summer, the First Edition will be made at BMW’s Dingolfing plant starting in May before officially launching in June of this year.
Exterior design details include a “Frozen Barcelona Blue” metallic paint job for the main body as well as a new dark, gloss-finished colour that encompasses both the side window surrounds and the kidney grille frame. Further dark accents include 20-inch wheels and tailpipe trims. BMW says a carbon roof and exterior package will also come as standard.
On the inside, the special edition model gets a full leather trim in a new “Ivory White” and “Night Blue” colour combination. The latter extends to the M leather-covered steering wheel as well as the Alcantara roof liner.
Underneath, the car is powered by the same 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine as the normal M850i xDrive. Delivering 523 bhp and 554 lb-ft of torque, the unit is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
