The Volkswagen I.D. Buzz concept – the German carmaker’s second all-electric concept vehicle – has won the 2017 EyesOn Design Award for “Best Concept Truck”.
The retro-styled design study follows on from the original I.D. hatchback concept that was revealed in Paris in September last year. And like the I.D., it’s also built on the manufacturer’s new MEB electric car architecture.
Able to carry eight people, the four-wheel-drive concept is said to preview a future MPV that will launch sometime in 2022.
The EyesOn Design Awards are the officially-sanctioned design awards for the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). This year’s chief judges included former VP of design at Ford, Jack Telnack, and Dave Marek, current design boss at Honda R&D Americas.
