2017 Land Rover Discovery Teased Ahead of Paris Reveal
The new Discovery has been previewed in a teaser image released today by Land Rover.
Showing the front-end view of the car, the new design ditches the boxy exterior of its predecessor and instead seems to echo the styling of the Discovery Vision concept from 2014.
Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s chief design officer, said: “Land Rover’s design and engineering teams have revolutionised the Discovery DNA to create a highly desirable, extremely versatile and hugely capable premium SUV.”
Beneath the outer skin, the seven-seater is expected to borrow the Range Rover’s aluminium monocoque, which would make it significantly lighter than the outgoing model that weighs 2622 kg.
Following its reveal at the Paris motor show at the end of this month, the fifth-generation Discovery will go on sale next year.
